24.12.2010 Feed the Birds
Please take time to clear a small patch of snow away in your garden and lay down some food for the birds. Even small pieces of bread will help them survive during this extended cold spell. Berries are now getting depleted on most bushes.
22.12.2010 Frozen Ponds
Warnings today from Police and Rescue Services to stay clear of frozen ponds and rivers during this cold snap. The Tees is frozen right across in a lot of places and footprints have been seen going out across it. If the ice gives way then there is not much chance of rescue with the currents taking victims down river under the ice.If you see kids playing there warn them that it is dangerous to themselves and also anyone who tries to rescue them if they get into danger.

If you do clear any pavements then try and put some salt over the ice. Grit bins around the area were full this morning and will be checked and re filled as needed in the coming weeks.

16.12.2010 More Scams
Be warned that there are people phone calling saying they are from Virgin and your broadband is slow, asking to swich on computer so they can fix the problem. Virgin say they are not their people and is another scam. If you get a call just hang up, dont be fooled and ring them back.Their number is a high cost call on a foreign network and can cost upto £50 to connect and £ 10 a minute.
There are e mails also saying from Virgin and that your account has not been paid. It has a dubious link to what appears to be a virgin site but address is not UK. It also asks you to update your account and bank details. Virgin state they have not sent the mails.

12.12.2010 Scam Warnings
We have had a number of reports and warnings from Neighbourhood Watch about unscrupulous people trying to cash in on the cold spell.
With a lot of reports of the snow and ice damaging guttering and roof tiles please be careful of anyone calling to your property offering to do repair work
If you need any repair work doing then contact someone you know or ask friends and family for any company’s that they could recommend.
PLEASE DO NOT DEAL WITH COLD CALLERS AT YOUR DOOR.
Also with more winter weather forecast please keep a check on your elderly neighbours.

09/12/2010 Parkview Railings
Latest update from our contact at CFYA
“I have managed to get through to the Contracts Manger at Frank Haslam Milan who is dealing with the new development at Park View. He’s more than happy for us to have the gates for Village or store them for a future project. He’s not sure if they have already been removed but will get back to me on their location”
08/12/2010 Parkview Trees
Reply from SBC Planning :-
Dear Sir,
I refer to your complain/enquiry regarding the removal of trees at the above site .
Following a site inspection I can confirm that the trees which have been removed are in accordance with details submitted to Principal Planning Officer Mr Simon Grundy by the developers.
As there has been no breach of planning control, the Enforcement Section will not be taking any further action on this occasion.
I trust this clarifies the situation, but if you require any further information on any other planning enforcement issues please do not hesitate to contact me . For specific advice or information regarding the Park View site you will need to contact Mr Grundy direct, either by email simon.grundy@stockton.gov.uk or on direct line 01642 528550
Not the best answer, planning applications seem flawed in our eyes and we will be passing on to councillors.

03/12/2010 Fencing
When checking the plans for Parkview it was noticed that the fence and gates at the front of the home are to be replaced with a low fence.
