The Robert Atkinson Youth & Community Centre building is 80 years old this year. It was built at a cost of £15,000 and opened its doors in August 1929 as the Robert Atkinson School. After closing in the 70s it became the Robert Atkinson Youth & Community Centre and continues to this day to be a popular local venue. We have many groups meet at the Centre including:
Indoor Carpet Bowls, Sewing, Embroidery & Craft Groups, Line Dancing, Guild Meetings, Parent & Toddler Groups, Dolls House Club, Keyboards, Women of Thornaby Group, a new Bereavement Group starts on 1st July.
U3A classes which include: Scrabble, Latin, Classical Music, Art Appreciation, Country Dancing.

Youth Club: 3 evenings per week.
New members always welcome. Rooms available for hire.
New Groups given support to become established.
